Gutters are easy to forget — until water is pouring down your wall. In a wet, windy spot like Swansea, keeping them clear is one of the cheapest ways to protect your home from damp and expensive repairs.
The general rule
For most Swansea homes, we recommend clearing gutters at least twice a year — once in late autumn after the leaves have fallen, and again in spring after the winter storms. Homes on tree-lined streets in Uplands, Sketty or the Mumbles may need it more often.
Signs your gutters need clearing
- Water overflowing or spilling down the wall in rain
- Plants or moss growing out of the gutter
- Staining or damp patches on external walls
- Sagging or dripping gutter sections
Why it matters
Overflowing gutters lead to damp walls, rotten fascias and soffits, and even penetrating damp inside. A quick, regular clear is far cheaper than fixing water damage later. If your gutters are overdue, get in touch and we'll clear and flush them through.
